I program games for Blue Marble Health Co.  Our games entertain, engage, educate, and challenge physical and cognitive skills for people of all ages and abilities. With comprehensive game performance, data tracking, and analytics our games do more than offer players rewarding entertainment; they also directly update medical professionals with their client’s valuable, accurate and detailed human performance metrics. Players can play the games anywhere at any time using a mobile tablet, or desktop computer.

History

I’ve been with Blue Marble now for 10 years, and have learned a lot. It’s also been interesting to be part of the evolution the company, and see how things have changed. In the early years of working with the company, we hopped between 4 different games (that all existed in some form before I joined the company).

  • Crystal Chompers (cognitive therapy)
  • RESET (cognitive therapy)
  • Treasure of Bell Island (cognitive therapy)
  • Health in Motion (physical therapy)

In the past 5 years we’ve been exclusively developing one of those games (Health in Motion) into a platform with a plethora of activities and features.

Early in my tenure at the company, it was featured in a San Diego Comic-Con Panel about the process of blending healthcare with video games. It was an honor to be a panelist and discuss my work with such an engaged audience. Plus it was my first time going to Comic-Con, so I had a great time nerding-out.

These are the projects that I’ve worked on while at Blue Marble Health Co. They are all based on clinical research for either cognitive rehabilitation or physical therapy.
